Icariin can be extracted from the dried stems and leaves of Epimedium arrowleaf, Epimedium pilosa, Wushan Epimedium, and Korean Epimedium. It is light yellow needle crystal. The aboveground part of Epimedium mainly contains flavonoids, and the underground part mainly contains flavonoids and alkaloids.
