Synthesis method: Minoxidil is obtained by the cyclization and chlorination of methyl cyanoacetate to obtain 4-chloro-2,6-diaminopyrimidine, then oxidation reaction with perbenzoic acid to obtain 6-amino-1,2-dihydro-1-hydroxy-2-imino-4-chloropyrimidine (C4H5CIN4O), and finally condensation with hexahydropyridine to make minoxidil.
