Product Description

Aloe-emodin is an anthraquinone compound with the chemical formula C15H10O5. It is one of the main components of aloe essential oil. It exists in aloe in a free state or as a glycoside in rhubarb, senna and aloe. Those precipitated from toluene or ethanol are orange-yellow needle crystals. Aloe-emodin is the active antibacterial component of rhubarb. Bacteria that are sensitive to it include Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and diphtheria, subtilis, anthrax, paratyphoid and dysentery, among which Staphylococcus and Streptococcus are the most sensitive.
