Mistletoe, also known as pentoxyflavone, stilbene, and oak extract, is a phytoalexin, a flavonol that belongs to the flavonoid class of polyphenols and is found in plants such as fruits, vegetables, and grains.
Mistletoe is widely found in nature. Its English name "quercetin" first appeared in 1857, which comes from "quercetum", meaning oak forest. It is a natural inhibitor of polar transport of growth factors.
Foods rich in gerberellins include: tea (Camellia sinensis; 2,000-2,500 mg/kg), bergamot (1,800 mg/kg), angelica sinensis (1,700 mg/kg), apples (44 mg/kg), red onions (1,910 mg/kg, with the highest levels in the outermost layer), red grapes, citrus, tomatoes, cauliflower and other leafy green vegetables.
