Red clover is a source of many valuable nutrients, including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. Red clover is also considered one of the richest sources of isoflavones, water-soluble chemicals that act like estrogen and are found in many plants.

Treat cardiovascular disease
Menopause makes women more susceptible to cardiovascular disease. Supplementation with red clover isoflavones can greatly increase high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, or "good" cholesterol, in premenopausal or postmenopausal women. This has led some scientific researchers to believe that these isoflavones may help fight cardiovascular disease. However, other studies have refuted this finding. Interestingly, a recent study found that menopausal women who took red clover supplements experienced significant improvements in arterial compliance (a measure of the strength and elasticity of artery walls). Arterial compliance reduces and increases heart disease risk in women during menopause.
Menopause
While not all studies are exhaustive, some studies on a specialized extract of red clover isoflavones confirm that it may be effective in reducing hot flashes in menopausal women
Osteoporosis
Menopause makes women more susceptible to osteoporosis (loss of vital bone). Several studies have found that a specialized extract of red clover isoflavones can slow bone loss and even increase their bone mineral density in pre- and post-menopausal women.
